Living Multidimensionally Can Exponentiate Your 3D Experience

Can you think of a recent time when you lost your drive, when your energy flagged, and your focus and forward movement seemed to stall?

It happens to all of us. We start a business, project, or quest with a burst of energy and self-belief. But over time, that energetic fuel lags and the wind goes out of our sails.

“Who am I to think that I can write a book?”

“Who am I kidding believing that anyone will listen to what I have to say when there are so many others saying the same thing?”

“Why did I ever imagine that I had the expertise to take my business to the next level?”

Here’s the thing: Sometimes we don’t know we have a second wind until we’ve used up our first one.

Living Multidimensionally

Have you heard of the Camino de Santiago?

The Camino, as it is commonly called, is actually a network of routes that all ultimately lead to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great inside the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain,  For the more than 200,000 modern-day pilgrims who walk the passage each year, the route is an intense journey for both spirit and body. The Camino winds through picturesque countryside and timeliness villages, but it is not an easy path. Blisters and physical pain are almost inevitable on a trek of this magnitude. Heat, exhaustion, and lack of preparation cause many who begin to quit before they have reached their goal.

No matter where you are in your personal evolution, it is said that the Camino can help you discover what you’re made of.

In June (to celebrate my beloved husband Friedemann’s birthday, Summer Solstice, and our 20th KISS-Aversery) we chose to spend the first half of our week-long vacation hiking 65kilometers (40+ miles!) along the French section of the Camino. We began our pilgrimage by visiting the Black Madonna at Le Puy en Valay, and then we headed out, following in the footsteps of many who have gone before us.

As an avid hiker, lover of nature, and explorer of sacred sites, walking this path has been a dream of mine for several years now.  In fact, I consciously trained for this journey several years ago, and my plans fell through. This year, I hadn’t trained at all.

There were moments before the trip began when I wondered, if would I be able to make it.

The experience was MAGICAL and included all of my favorite things. Deep connection and conversation with Friedemann, clear focus and spiritual intention, spontaneous community and sharing a common purpose with the others who were walking, and last (but certainly not least) yummy food.

Most importantly, The Camino offered me the environment that called out my best self.

Were there moments of fatigue and self-doubt? Yes, Of course. But among the many gifts of the Camino was the priceless opportunity to use my first wind…and tap into my second one. I don’t mean that in the old paradigm way of forcing, striving, or pushing. Instead, living from the new paradigm, where the journey is magical and the destination is reached. Rooted in my multidimensionality, I tap into resources that are always available to me. Yet still, these resources are overlooked sometimes when the filters of the body, mind, and emotions seem to be the loudest voices.

Each morning we set out with a clear destination of where we were staying that night. Each day we walked the entire distance and enjoyed it to the fullest, full stop. No wiggles, niggles, distractions, procrastination, sidetracks, changing our minds, stopping short, giving up.

Yes, our minds, bodies, and emotions may have still been running their survival consciousness patterns. But, because we were tapped into a stream of consciousness, our multidimensional selves, the flow, our second wind, we still chose to do it.

*Please note if there had been a physical condition that required redirecting we would have, so again my message is not push through no matter what, it is when we are in a situation that stretches us we realize we’ve been holding back and there is more there to access.

At times in my business, I’ve had a different experience. I wake up in the morning, I have my top 3 “to-joys” (to-dos) and I am fired up. Throughout the day I get distracted, lose sight of where I’m going, or don’t feel like doing the task (you get the picture). At the end of the day, month, or year I still haven’t reached my destination.

I know I’m not alone in this. We set out to write our book and complete x amount of pages each day. We plan to create an entirely new upleveled offering, or book a big speaking gig or grow our audience. Whatever the ambitious plan (which is truly totally within reach) we lose traction along the way.

My experience of the Camino amplified my awareness of a very powerful stance that creates exponentially “I am having this and so it is”, with a clear destination in mind and a solo focus. The physical nature of the journey and the fact that there weren’t a lot of other options for nightly lodging kept us focused on getting to our destination.

It is our second wind that stretches us into more dimensions than the survival patterns of the slower vibrational energies of the body, mind, and emotions. However, so often we don’t stay the course long enough to discover and tap into the power of that second wind.

Friedemann and I didn’t stop at the Camino, or spend the rest of our vacation resting on the beach. No, we went on to bike, kayak and go caving.

Entering the cave through a small (and I mean REALLY small) opening in the rocks head first freaked me out! Actually, I started and stopped 3 times before I actually made it through. Yet, despite the fear that almost stopped me, this was one of the highlights of the trip.

I crossed the threshold beyond my fears into more of who I truly am and into an incredible experience of repelling 30 meters into a completely dark cave, swimming in a lake that was 12 degrees, and sitting in the pitch black and in the silence that remained.

I share these stories to let you know that you are not alone.

Mastery isn’t being perfect, sometimes it is simply how quickly we come back to center when we leave it, returning to our Source and getting to all that lives on the other side.

This wasn’t the first time life has asked me to stretch further to access that second wind. 20 years ago, Friedemann and I met at a Kundalini Yoga camp doing White Tantric Yoga. During this experience, we held “impossible” postures for 31 minutes or 62 minutes at a time. Can you imagine holding a single yoga pose for more than an hour? The challenge is physical, of course, but our second wind rarely comes from our bodies. It’s a combination of mental, emotional, and spiritual strength AND the vast stores of universal energy that allows us to do ‘impossible’ things.

When I take myself back to that experience 20 years ago, I rocked it, if I do say so myself. Yes, at times I struggled and was scared, and it hurt; just like on the most recent hike.

Yet every time I reached for more within myself, I was always met by more of myself.

Think again of that recent memory when you went through the entirety of your first wind. Did you ultimately continue toward your goal? How did you reach deep enough to access your second wind? Consider the environments that bring out the best in you. Where do you find you most easily tap into all of your untapped potential?

Much like living multidimensionally, we KNOW we are more than our body, mind, and emotions. When we create, we are in the seat of the Creator Being. When we share our highest level contribution, we tap into our Higher Self.

Remember, when you stretch beyond your perceived limitations, you are met by so much more.
