The Funhouse Mirror Illusion

The Funhouse Mirror Illusion

“The distortion I see is my true reflection”

I’m always fascinated by the mirrors at a carnival. You know, there’s the one that makes you way shorter and wider than you are. The other one that makes you tall and ridiculously thin. I especially love the one that turns you all wavy and distorted. It’s always funny to see ourselves so differently, to imagine what life might be like in a different body or experience.

It’s completely fascinating and fun – as long as those mirrors stay at the funhouse. The problem is, many of us end up taking the mirrors home with us, without even noticing we’ve done it.

No, of course, I’m not talking literally. But when it comes to how we view ourselves, we’re often seeing our reflection through some highly distorted and completely skewed carnival trickery.

I’ve got one client who, despite her vast success in her work, has a really hard time seeing herself as intuitive. It took her a long time to leave behind the old paradigm of separation and replace the lack of validation from her environment and community with her own solid knowing. Even when others, like myself or Thoth, pointed out her gifts, she was so attached to that funhouse reflection that she deflected or downplayed her gifts. Because she wasn’t able to see her true reflection not only was she not able to see her gifts, she also wasn’t able to access, hone or amplify them.

To do that — and step into her true path as a Multidimensional Leader — she had to first see her funhouse mirror for what it was, a distortion of reality.

These funhouse mirrors can come in many forms. You may have family or friends who are firmly rooted in the old paradigm and hold up a distorted reflection of who you really are. You may be holding onto remnants of survival or lack that keep you looking into that mirror even when those around you clearly see your brilliance and the difference you are making in the world.

This is not just true of beginners, or those starting out in business or on their multidimensional path. Some of my most powerful and accomplished clients still struggle with seeing themselves through a distorted or limited perspective.

Almost every one of us has a funhouse mirror somewhere in our closet. The trick is to identify what particular distortion your mirror creates, and what situations or triggers leave you seeing that reflection instead of the clear reality that the rest of the world can see.

The people around you matter!

This is why it is VITAL to surround yourself with mentors, coaches, and peers who are fully devoted to the evolution of consciousness, creating a community around you of individuals and energy who are dedicated to replacing the funhouse mirrors of the world with a true mirror, clean and clear and reflecting the power of your highest level contribution, Divine self and ascended masteries.

The client I mentioned above has now, through her work with the Divine Transmissions community, gotten rid of her funhouse mirror and is able to fully stand in the truth of her Intuitive Gifts, growing and expanding her business as a TRUE reflection of who she really is, doing the highest work she incarnated to do in the world, becoming even more successful than she already was.

Playwork:
So, my questions for you:

  • What particular sort of funhouse mirror do you have hiding in your closet?
  • What do you see when you look into it, and how does that differ from how your Multidimensional Peers see you?
  • How often are you hauling it out unknowingly and seeing yourself through a skewed lens, ignoring and negating your gifts, Divine self, and Multidimensional purpose?

The next time you are tempted to negate, deny or hide from your potency as a Creator Being, the impact of your highest level contribution, ask yourself if you’ve been looking in your funhouse mirror again – and choose to put it away for good. You are here for a reason. You have an even vaster contribution to share with the world.

And Thoth and I are here to help you do it.

Illusion Busting Mantra:

I see myself as a Divine Creator being with crystal clarity about the highest expression of my unique mission, I will no longer see myself through a distorted funhouse mirror.
